After the ceremony, the newlyweds made sure their guests knew this was a p-a-r-t-y by making a triumphal entrance with Soul Flower – Remix” by The Pharcyde -a request we were more than happy to abide with.

From that moment on, the dance floor was brought to life, leading the beautiful Kyla and happiest man in the world, Myles. We had some interesting musical requests, including Hypnotize by deceased superstar Notorious BIG (gone too soon, right?). Of course, it doesn’t come as a surprise when the song is continually used anywhere people want to cheer up and embrace life. Other terrific additions to the playlist were good ol’ Stevie Nicks and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, who made dinner time even more pleasurable. It also proved the bride and groom have a soft spot for 70s nostalgia.

After dancing, drinking, and enjoying like no other, the couple received a wonderful surprise, with a Brazil Carnival Samba Dance Performance. Percussions, dancers, insane rhythm filled the floor, making every single guest feel alive.

Like we said at the beginning, there’s nothing better than witnessing true love. Two people who love each other so much that they cannot wait to share it with their beloved ones. But like Kyla and Myles, they want to do it their way. So we wish nothing but endless happiness and blessings to the couple.

The Wedding of Myles & Kyla

Now that we have found love – what are we gonna do

Witnessing a wedding is always emotional, and even if you are an “I-don’t-cry-at-weddings” type of person, you would have changed your mind after attending Kyla and Myles’s wedding.

Usually, brides tend to lean to one side of the spectrum: either they are methodical, with classic taste and a tight schedule, or they are laid-back, spontaneous, with a #yolo attitude. Kyla was a refreshing, captivating blend of the two approaches.

Starting with the couple’s choice for the venue, precisely the style we want to describe. California emanates a relaxed vibe; it immediately translates to chicness, modernity, and edginess. Who would’ve thought you could find fantastic spots, such as The Pannikin Building, downtown. It is a historic building with gorgeous wood floors, super cool vaulted ceilings and open beams, and the touch that makes it even cozier: exposed brick, which is the original thing! As the venue advertises itself, you can make this space whatever you want it to be. And so did Kyla and Myles did!

Before the wedding, Kyla, Myles, and their entourage had a photoshoot. If you’re thinking of rigid poses and frozen smiles, think again. This wonderful couple chose to get candid photos with the bridesmaids. They also stayed away from the formal “First look” pics and opted for genuine photos as Mr. and Mrs. Showing them as they are: a couple. Partners enjoying the moment, planning their wedding, but embracing their marriage -with all the spontaneity that comes along.

Touches of classic romanticism were spotted throughout the day. For instance, Kyla was not seen by the rest of the guests until she walked down the aisle. A lovely detail that preserved the aura of mystery that accompanies the look at the bride for the first time. Also, the bridesmaids, wearing stunning rainbow-themed gowns, walked in a specific order so that the shades would blend perfectly.

As guests walked into the reception space, they were instructed to explore, seat or walk as they pleased, not having to worry about dinner. You know why? Dinner came directly to them! And the day kept getting more incredible by the minute.

JJ The RunMC

Jon and Judah tightened the knot at Mt. Woodson Castle. The gorgeous building has such exciting background that we have to share some of its most astounding details:

  •         In 1909, Amy Strong, a dress designer, hired architects to build her dream house, which was completed in 1921.
  •         The style is harmonic and romantic; builders used elements from the surroundings like rocks, wood, and soils to create it.
  •         The castle is multi-level and has 27 rooms!

Being there, and witnessing such different styles, materials, and history engraved in the walls, is a terrific experience.

The castle is surrounded by large, beautiful lawns.

It was 4:30 pm when the first guests arrived, as they were welcomed with a drink in the Upper Lawn.

We are after the same rainbow’s end.

The reception was held at the lower lawn, and dinner was served in a buffet mode. Before dinner, the officiant offered a beautiful prayer. Long before guests enjoyed their delectable meal, I was behind the scenes, along with the rest of the caterers and providers. It made me feel special; everyone was busy as bees working on flowers, plates, building the arch, setting speakers. Neither the guests nor the couple gets to see the number of coordinated efforts for making things happen on time. All the newlyweds, family, and friends get to see is the end result. It is personal satisfaction to see the look on their faces as everything they had envisioned months ago is now before their eyes.

One of the most remarkable details about the wedding was the video Jon and Judah prepared for their families and friends. It was called “Story of Us” and included baby photos of them, from the cradle to adolescence and then the magic moment where their destinies sealed together. The journey included lots of happy memories, the distance between them, the Covid experience, and much more. Like a true princess, Judah had her happy ending!

Jon & Judah’s Wedding

Wherever you’re goin’, I’m goin’ your way

What’s the best way for a bride to feel like a princess on her wedding day? To get married in a Castle and marry the love of her life. Judah did both!

Two drifters off to see the world

Father and bride embraced each other as they walked down the aisle with the all-time favorite: Moonriver. As you may know, the song was the central piece for Audrey’s Hepburn unforgettable 1961 movie: Breakfast in Tiffany’s. When the song was initially released, it was instrumental. The theme with Hepburn signing the lyrics was not released until she died in 1993. The song’s author Henry Mancini said that it only took him 30 minutes to compose the hit, and it had to be made bearing the limitations of Audrey’s voice range. It is hard to think of another melody as fully charged with nostalgia, devotion, and inspiration as Moonriver -looking at Judah with her father made it the perfect rendition.

Another great moment happened when Jon and his mom danced: “My wish” by Rascal Flatts. A song that works ideally as a send-off, where someone who loves you wishes you the best. The song has been featured in movies, and it is the official song for the Make-a-wish-foundation in which sports celebrities partner with the organization to make children’s dreams come true. And that day, Jon’s dream came true as well.

Music requests were varied and interesting. We had Smash Mouth, Rhett Thomas, V.I.C.and many more. The happy couple said goodbye to their guests with Katy Perry and her song: Fireworks.

Another day in paradise, Jon and Judah; thank you for choosing me to help create your day.

The ceremony was held at Sunset Cliffs, at the Luscomb Point. The area is named for a local surfing personality, Happy Luscomb. And has become a favorite spot for weddings and jaw-dropping sunset viewing.

The majestic topography of the area includes arches, sea caves, and intricate carved coastal hillsides. From the highest cliffs, lucky spectators can catch a view of the gray whales migrating to the Baja; watching Karenina emerge from a hill -with the California palm trees behind her -seemed like a postal card. It was beauty in every sense of the word.

I’ll be coming home, wait for me.

The ceremony started at 4:15 pm, perfect timing for the Sun to begin settling, with gusts of wind surrounding the romantic spot. The bride song was a medley from William McDowell, from his album: “Withholding nothing.” In the author’s words, the compilation was created as a testimony to open wide the door for a new generation to witness the manifestation of God’s presence among his people. It is about yielding everything and giving oneself to the Creator. In fit perfectly with the bride and groom as they stood facing each other, surrendering their past lives, seizing their present together, and asking God to bless their future as a family.

If that moment wasn’t emotional enough, the view of Karenia dancing with her father touched the hearts of everyone present. It was adorable to see Karenia’s tears as she embraced her dad while he softly patted her. New beginnings are exciting, but we never forget where we come from.

Talent was on display that evening when the couple’s niece delighted the audience as she sang “Die with You” by Beyonce.

Eddie took his beautiful bride in his arms, and they swayed on the floor with Ed Sheraan and his most famous rendition to love “Perfect.” The song’s lyrics are enough to tear up, with the author explaining this time is ready to express his emotions.

Fun fact about the song: the chorus references Ed Sheraan being barefoot on the grass. It was actually an actual moment when the musician was dancing on a friend’s lawn, and the idea for the song came to his mind.

I Found a Love for Me

You know you’re about to experience something remarkable when you are asked to an event like this. When the first crew arrives at the venue at 7:45 am, and preparations are happening in two different locations, we acknowledge this is no ordinary wedding -this was Eddie and Karenina’s phenomenal day.

If there’s a moment no guest will forget about the ceremony is the moment of the vows, where the bride and groom read their words to their children. It was an emotional part that blended both families together as one. Promises of eternal love were made between Eddie and Karenia, also between parents and children.

Oh, I will stay with you when no one else is around.

After such an inspirational ceremony, guests were transported in luxury limos to Building 177 -in Liberty Station Grounds -where the reception took place. Liberty Station has military origins, and it proudly announces itself as a gate to a heroic past, and a hopeful promise for the future. Building 177 was the original NTC Library. Its exposed beams, and grand vaulted ceilings, offers a versatile space for a myriad of events. The venue is perfect for a wedding.

The Grand Entrance was at 6:40 pm when the official couple marched at the rhythm of Beyonce and her “Love on Top” hit.

The ballroom looked regal -it looked like a fairy tale come true. Tables were adorned with burgundy motifs -the same shade as the bridesmaids, while candles and flowers give it the cozy element. No fairy tale is complete until the prince and princess dance together for the first time.

And in your eyes, you’re holding mine.

Such powerful moments were the prelude to an unforgettable evening. Friends and family toasted to the happy couple, and the dance floor filled with a crowd ready to celebrate such a happy event.

Music petitions were varied, with the late Queen of TexMex, Selena, requested to set the mood with her vibrating music. Bruno Mars, Beyonce, Gloria Stefan, Rihanna, and many more were present at the wedding, giving the guests one more reason to be joyful and dance. One more catchy lyric, one more song, one last kiss before saying farewell to the new Mr. and Mrs.

We cannot be more grateful to have been part of the evening. The smile of satisfaction imprinted in the happy couple is what keeps motivating our work.
